Because everything looks great in 3D, let’s see how Digital Chocolate does with 3d-fying brick breaking.

3D Brick Breaker Revolution ($2.99 - On Sale)
Many entertainment news outlets ask you not to throw away those 3D glasses just yet because a flurry of 3D movies is arriving. Good thing this next game doesn’t require glasses but still looks awesome. Brick Breaker Revolution is everything but your regular brick game. It features nauseating (that may be good or bad) graphics and animation, mines, guns, burning balls and many more offered in 3 different game modes.
Modes
3D BBR as we’d like to call it offers three modes:

Classic Mode is your regular brick breaker offered in 3D. Time Attack starts you off with 100 seconds to work it. Try to score your highest before time runs out. Time gets added as you score some special powerups.
Lastly, Revolution Mode is the most interesting of the bunch just because it’s sort of an upwards infinite brick breaking. What we mean by that is you actually need to break brick keys to unlock the upper wall of the screen so you can move up a level literally:

All modes come with fully 3D animated power ups and achievements you get to unlock as you get better with the game:

3D Power Ups
As with any good brick game comes cool little power ups that spice up your game. 3D BBR gets the upper hand getting power ups to work with the whole 3D team, and boy does the game deliver! You activate the power ups after you get them by pressing on the little icons on the edges. You can collect up to 4 power ups.
First up is the Mine. Move your paddle left and right (or vice versa) to swing the mine right to left to extend it for a bigger brick reach:

Gun armors your paddle with two guns side to side to kill off bricks much faster:

Laser unleashes its power regardless of how many bricks you stack above each other. Laser will get ‘em:

Huge + multi balls also make their 3D debuts:

Controls
Either manually hold the paddle and slide left or right OR use the buttons near the center of the screen. The downside to using the latter is that you have to hold and tap it to control the paddle.
Conclusion
3D BBR takes you for a wild spin on the classic game. The game does warn you when you first fire it up that the game might cause nausea to some people. Being 3D and all, the game come with some neat effects that maybe seizurish for some people. The little background blackholes actually spin during gameplay. There’s also a power down called Shake or something like that which literally swivels your gameboard up, down, left and right.
Seriously, we can handle all the effects because they’re so cool, and we think that’s what we’re paying for anyway. We’re just concerned about the overall appeal of the game so maybe Digital Chocolate can provide the ability to turn off certain effects including the background spins or the shake effects.
Overall, this is a definite steal for $2.99. This game is easily worth upwards $4.99.
PS. The game does save your state upon exit/calls regardless of what mode you’re in. Each mode gets their own save slot! Neato!
