Maintaining the core gameplay and twisting the it a little bit are two of the challenges classic ports always face. How does the next game live up to it?

Trivial Pursuit ($4.99)
Hells yeah! It’s one of the classic boardgames and one of our favorites growing up for the iPhone. You can bet we were ecstatic upon seeing it in the store. EA Mobile does a very great job maintaining the spirit of the game and somehow polishes the game enough for the iPhone. It looks and plays great, and there’s really nothing to complain about. Let’s try and exactly find out why?!
Presentation
The game looks super polished for the iPhone. EA knows they had to do it, if they want any chance of getting noticed. It looks like it paid off based on chart ranking and overall Trivial Pursuit popularity. The question wedges and the whole gameboard look super slick. The game comes with some cool animations and sound as well.

Gameplay
Trivial Pursuit offers two types of gameplay: Classic and Pursuit mode. The game also allows playability up to four local wifi connected players through Pass N Play:

Answering trivia question from 6 different categories has never been this much fun! Touch controls work perfectly for the iPhone:

Classic VS Pursuit
We thought we’d discuss a little bit about the variations in gameplay modes. In Classic, you get this whole circular pie of different colored trivia blocks. Whoever fills up all six wedges of his wheel wins the game! You roll a dice and the result equals the number of steps you can move in either way of the wheel.

Pursuit mode offers various levels of gameplay. It’s basically a long stretch of blocks. Your goal is to answer correct questions with the fewest moves to win medals:

This mode also offers different power ups/bonus wedges like this one where you can change the block category to whatever you like:

Profiles
Another cool implementation is the ability to customize your profiles. You can change name, mascot, color etc! It acts like it’s a mini avatar. Again, it’s a little something EA added to sweeten the game even further:

Conclusion
With 2 game modes and multiplayer options, Trivial Pursuit is definitely a must buy! We only wish EA adds a video questions to make it all the bit more fun. EA has done a very great job to maintain the spirit of the game and add little tweaks here and there. We can’t suggest the game enough.
