As if a game title can’t be any more news and current affairs revelant, Gameloft is announcing their first “out-the-door” $0.99 title Bailout Wars.
Can this game also be a possible start with a new Gameloft department similar to EA’s 8lb Gorilla section dedicated to smaller games?

The game is *looking* to be very much similar to PlayScreen’s Bailout Bonanza (Free). The goal in that game is to catch money falling off from some federal building through touch or tilt.
Check out a news clipping sent by Gameloft which points to this fact.
The Newspaper
Warning. The image is huge, but is certainly worth a read.
If this whole $0.99 department thing spreads M MKXMNN E to other big developers like what EA and possibly Gameloft is doing, then certainly the room for indie developers become a little tighter.
I never though at the second year of the AppStore we’ll go backwards and have lower pricepoints. But if that’s where the market is, that’s where developers are going.
