With all this talk on global warming, it’s time to just relax and let go off everything. And what better way to do it than with the ultimate time waster… tossing paperballs!

Paper Toss: World Tour ($0.99)
Backflip Studios originally released this time-waster as a simple, free, office-themed game. It quickly spiked up the top free games. Intelligently, they have decided to make a “sequel” and charge for it. Is it worth something? Find out.
Presentation
In this version of Paper Toss, there’s not really one theme to which the game is set to. The game takes place in 8 exotic locations, all fully illustrated different from each other and just beautiful. Not only do you get locations, but if you are – for example in Egypt, depending on how fast the wind speed is, sand will destruct your vision. Others do it through rain, snow, etc.

Each level has certain objects to further create THAT “exotic” look. In the beach, the palms and water will move, and in Germany those little light boxes whose name no one can ever remember, also swing from the rope they are tied from, and the skies are moving. Graphically it’s a beautiful game, and it’s flawless so far on my iPod Touch 2G.
Controls
Controls, once again, are simple. Flick the paper ball towards the direction you want your paper ball to go to. Keep an eye out on the wind-speed
.
Gameplay
The gameplay is quite simple. Get the paper ball in the trash bin. It’s the ultimate time-waster. This is a sort of “sequel” to the original free version, where, after goofing around so much at the office, YA FIRED!!! Now that you have all that free time, you decide to travel the world.

You start out only with one location open and you must play all the levels to unlock the last (the American baseball park location, the 8th and last location). One thing that adds a lot to the app is online high scores. You can submit your high score to the global scoreboard and compete worldwide for the best score. You can also edit your profile and enter custom tags (like TheAPPera
) and compete against other people who have this tag added to their profile.

Cons
None so far. Although it would be nice to have more locations, the app is only $0.99 and you get 8 locations that are each individually drawn and completely different from each other.
Conclusion
The app is priced at $0.99 , and there’s a free version that will give you a taste of what you’re in for (not a lite, a free app). Strangely, it’s still additive fun
. You’ll get realistic physics and 8 beatiful exotic locations. Check out the devs gameplay video:
I’d say it’s totally worth it. You always need a time-waster on your iPhone
.

What’s more fun than throwing crumbled up paper in a basket?!
i was thinking about getting this, as the free version was pretty fun. However, I don’t think different backgrounds can justify a 99c purchase from me. I think it would get repetitive and boring no matter how many times the background could change. The concept is still the same…aim and flick.
I tried out the original but I’m horrible at these types of games, so it’s not for me. I can’t take into account wind velocity to save my iPod’s life lol. But I do admire their creative way of building on the original’s success. And that baseball level does look pretty hardcore.
Makes sense @sf49lu. Although you gotta give them credit for taking off so successfully from a once free game. At one point both Ragdoll and Papertoss were on the top 10.
Simply amazeballs.
Yeah backflip studios are great developers and I hope they keep pumping out the great games.
I’ve played the free version. I sucked at it though haha. Great concept and game however, and I hope to see more from these devs.
