**UPDATE: Audiosurf Tilt Zune HD RELEASED. Check HERE!**
If there’s one topic we like to stir some controversy about, that’d be Audiosurf. We were the first to break back in March that it might be possible with OS 3.0, but alas, music is still locked.
Today, we woke up to news that Apple’s rival Microsoft, with their new device Zune HD, WILL get an iteration of Audiosurf to be named: Audiosurf Tilt.

TheAPPera.com's Audiosurf Tilt Concept
Once again, we held Mr Audiosurf himself: Dylan Fitterer captive and extracted some information from him. You want to find out what he said? Read on!
The Million Dollar Question: Is There An Audiosurf iPhone?
We questioned him regarding Audiosurf Tilt, and if there’s any possibility to doing it the Tapulous way and have Audiosurf games on a per album/artist basis. Here’s what we got:
That’s a possibility, but it just isn’t Audiosurf without access to your music collection. When Audiosurf hits iPhone I want it to be the real thing.
We couldn’t agree more. We already knew it isn’t going to open since the music binaries are still locked, but we asked anyway. I guess we just wanted a full confirmation that an iPhone version is nonexistent… for now.

Tapulous’ Riddim Ribbon
Our suggestion was triggered by Tapulous’ announcement last week of a new, very much Audiosurf-like game: Riddim Ribbon. The first incarnation of the game is a partnership with the Black Eyed Peas! One of the group’s frontman, Will.I.Am is said to be handling the beats packaged in the app.

Tapulous had been successful in this kind of setup with Coldplay and Lady Gaga Tap Tap Revenge’s. It’s a business process they stood with from the beginning, unlike Audiosurf.
How “Audiosurf” Will Audiosurf Tilt Be?
The answer to the above question is still pending however. At this time, Microsoft is holding all information about the title. Dylan agreed to release details to us once he’s got ‘em ready and is allowed to.
We imagine it not being too far away from the desktop version though. In Audiosurf, you ride the beats through your. It’ll be tilt controlled obviously and Zune’s music is fully open for developers’ finagling.
The Future
Microsoft also announced that along with Audiosurf Tilt, Project Gotham Racing and Vans SK8 Pool Service will also be available for download “later this year”. We tried to reach Fuel Industries (the developers of the iPhone version) for some comments but is unavailable at the time.

So how does this move by Microsoft affect Apple? Frankly, without a yet established AppStore-like Zune service, everything remains to be seen. If however the public bites Zune HD and their games particularly Audiosurf Tilt, Apple *just might* open up music completely.
Until then, Audiosurf isn’t in any of our iPhone/Touch future. Should we start bangin pots and pans directed at Cupertino already? We can probably save a thunderous roar in time for Audiosurf Tilt - Zune HD’s release?

Hey I am back for a little bit! Anyway, The zune hd is looking more and more attractive…when it starts getting higher quality games, it will rival the ipod/iphone. The appstore has a bunch of crap games, but if the zune has a lower amount, while having higher quality, then the zune will beat out the idevices imo. I just bought an ipod touch 64gb though, so not going to get a zune anytime soon
Wow the zune HD is really starting to get good but will probably not be on the same level of the iPod touch for a long time though.
hmmm. I still like the touch/phone.
audiosurf for iphone nowwwww!!!
Hey sf49lu, did you get me one too, while you were at it
The zune looks good, but I don’t have a Windows machine to sync it to. I’ll be sticking with Apple products.
what about releasing a jailbroken version of audiosurf for iPhone?
I seriously doubt that's going to fly. Dylan runs a very respectable company and while the JB community is vast, it's still illegal..
