To pay for Tweetie 2 or not… that was the question we posted a couple days ago. Alyssa Milano says nahh-uhh supporting the 55% of our readers with their NO decision!

Today the controversial twitter app Tweetie 2 has finally been released.

You’ve heard the arguments from both sides. But the question remains, is the new app worth upgrading to?

What’s New?

Mashable seems to like the app and summarizes some of the new version’s best features:

• Support for the new retweet feature.
• Threaded conversations
• Link your Twitter (Twitter) contacts to your Address Book
• Preview short URLs
• Landscape support
• A new attachment manager
• Auto-saves what you were doing whenever you quit. When you reopen the app, it will go back to where you were last at.

How many of those features are in our favorite Twittelator Pro twitter iPhone client? We’ll leave that question open for now.

Decision…

Regarding the question whether to get it or not, we’ll be quick to say this: if you want Tweetie’s design and implementation, grab it. If you think you want more features and editable settings, go find another client.

That’s our initial decision until we get to play with the app a little more, and as we discover some of its hidden wealth (if there’s any). For now, approach at your own risk…
