It seems ngmoco is really liking Apple’s new policy of letting free apps have in-app purchase (come on we both know they knew before us). They’re now the main proponents of this news, will others follow?
See I’m telling you, ng had the news before us. There’s now a one chapter version of Rolando 2: The Quest For The Golden Orchid!
The way it’s going to work now appears to be a shareware/demo sorta thing. Yes the app is free, and you get the first chapter free. This is more of a lite version where you can get a taste of the app before spending any money on it.
So you want more? That’s were DLC comes in. You can buy chapters 2-6 as in app purchase. 2-4 are available individually for 99cents, and then 5 & 6 are bundled together and available for $1.99. This seems like a interesting approach, gamers should find it nice, as they’ll be able to try it out beforehand.

Eliminate - To Be Free?!?!
Not much is known on this. All that’s known is that shortly after Apple’s announcement, Neil tweeted this:
That’s pretty much all there is so far. This could either be a great idea and go great, or flush Eliminate down the toilet depending on how ngmoco is planning on using the DLC’s. We’ll see.
In conclusion, Apple’s announcement truly was an atomic bomb. It’s going to be really interesting to see how this turns out, if it becomes a success or fails epicly. We’ll just have to wait and see.

I still can't wait for eliminate, and I hope they have it all planed on how inapp purchasing will work.
I was disappointed when they announced the original DLC thinking devs would abuse it. It 'kinda' is at the moment with Tapulous selling previously free songs on TTR2 but apart from that its working well. If there is anything that will get this abused it is struggling devs who will put everything in DLC. Just look at Boxcar, people who reinstall the app have to pay for features they had… If more apps do that its just getting stingy and trying too hard to make a buck
Thats my opinion anyway but we will see what happens
