Yep it’s officially the Fall season here in the US, but this one spring wants to keep jumping and take you with it!

GTProductions offers another of those addictive casual games that can be playable by everyone. In SpringFling, you’re tasked to coil little springs and go as high up as possible. Along the way, you collect powerups and clothing to dress Mr Spring with.
Presentation
There are 5 vastly differently designed levels (6 if Tutorial counts as one). These stages are all wonderfully uniquely designed. Examples include waterfalls, tree branches and chalkboards. Yes, the level progression is somewhat reminiscent of Up There.

The sound department doesn’t fail the game either as each theme is customized with their own beats. Wait ’til you unlock levels and as you earn hats and accessories to fully understand SpringFling’s true graphic quality.
Controls
Unlike Doodle Jump, SpringFling is NOT tilt controlled. The game is very much touch controlled. You drag him down to compress the spring (full red bar equals the strongest jump it can go).

For balloon and rocket powerups, you can alter the direction by forcing the “air” either left or right of Mr Spring.
Gameplay
There are two main game modes: static and moving levels. Static mode is where the platforms are stationary, but you work against the number of “flicks” you throw your spring to.

Moving or dynamic levels however have platforms that move and fade under you. This mode requires quick thinking and perfect timing.

Checkpoints are available every 100 meters or so to recharge your flicking power or spring flung power.

Along the way, you get to collect little hats and accessories for your spring. While this doesn’t really affect your jumping skills good or bad, it’s a nice added touch we’ve never seen before.
Suggestions
First of all, I don’t know if its just my AGON account, but my game doesn’t seem to register my scores against the online boards. Achievements are given whenever you reach 200m per level, but my achievements don’t get unlocked. Is this a bug?

One other thing I’d like to say is that I hope the accessories somewhat affect the core gameplay good and bad. For example, a hat makes you weigh more which makes it harder to reach higher scores etc etc.
Conclusion
SpringFling has done more than enough to make itself unique among the casual games in store right now. The contrast between the background and Mr Spring himself is a nice play on the design.
Do I recommend this game? Hell yes!

I too noticed a lot of sloppiness with the AGON scores and achievement tracking simply not registering stuff half of the time which is annoying as I don't thin the game stores any of the stats locally.
Whew! Good thing it wasn't just me. I was able to unlock the tutorial and collect all achievements but anything score related will NOT open ;(
