Labyrinth 2 Hands-On: Holy Shabam! Reinventing The Wheel!

Though there are many labyrinth games in the AppStore, I still think the original is king. Labyrinth by Illusion Labs was even around before the AppStore…

It’s been a while, but it’s here.. Labyrinth 2! In my opinion it redefines a labyrinth game.

So what’s new? Well, specifically new elements, such as bumpers, buttons, doors, magnets, fans, lasers, merry-go-round and much more. I’ll spill some more details along with a whole lotta screens after the jump!

New Toys To Play With (Or Avoid Rather)

There are two types of cannons, one which I like to call the toy cannon. It fires balls that will push you, but don’t kill you (unless it pushes you into a hole :P ). Then there’s the big boy cannons, the real ones. If one of the balls fired from these hit you, you’re dead.

There’s also a new ghost ball feature (don’t worry you can turn it off) which make the game into a sort of race to compete against your own time. These new features give the game a goal that’s not just steering clear of the holes.

What Else?

I’ve been playing the beta for the past days (all these screenshots are taken from a beta so they might look slightly different than the final product) and it’s completely different than the original, in a good way.

Just like in the original, there’s a level editor for users to use. You create these on your computer. It’s pretty easy to use and you have full control.

Should You Get It Once Out?

Anyways this just a sneak peek at what’s in Labyrinth 2. The game really is great and it’s one you should check out when it comes out. Here’s the trailer released today:
