Well look what we have here. The new iPhone 3GS can record video from factory, but the previous iPhones (3G/1G) can’t, at least not without jailbreaking. Right? WRONG! Look what slipped by Apple: iVideoCamera.

Knocking Live Video approval and now this. Has Apple finally let some doors open? Or is this a one time “holiday-spirit”-you’re-lucky-we-approved-it sort of thing.
The iVideoCamera lets your record a short video on any phone. Now you don’t need a 3GS to record and share videos with your friends and family. Works with any 2G or 3G phone with 3.1 OS installed.
BUT! But, it’s not perfect. In fact, it’s sorta shallow. According to the description, the app can only shoot up to about 1 minute in length, at 3FPS and at a 160×213 resolution.
The good news: it looks like Apple might be warming up to the idea of letting all iPhones record video. Hey Cycorder peeps!! Submit to Apple!!
