**This game is FREE Today Only! Do NOT miss out!**
Have you ever wondered how a stick shooter would play vertically instead of a semi-top down view? Wonder no more!
MiniSquadron (Full: FREE Today Only, Lite)

You heard that right! MrFungFung uses a 2D vertical gameplay for this incredibly amazing dofighting/flying game. The controls just feel too natural for the game coupled with the lush graphics (check out the afterburner animation) equate to one fantastic game!
Presentation
I know I say it often but the only way to describe it is: “cute”. The planes are like those RC plane toys you get from a McDonald’s Happy Meal. They come in different colors, designs and sizes. The game boasts dozens and dozens of unlockable and beautifully handcrafted planes. Trust me, when you slowly unlock them, you’d “wanna catch them all”!

Oh and the music, as the description states: “Rock out to the genius of Mozart, Beethoven, Tchaichovsky and other dead composers“. The sounds blend perfectly and I just really had to LOL on that last couple of words.
Controls
If you found Aera‘s controls a bit on the difficult side due to the game’s finesse, you don’t gotta worry about that here. All you get is a dpad on the left and a fire button on the right. It’s that simple. The dpad is rotational 360 degrees which is all you’d need really. Try to play with it as there’s really no way to “guide” you in words.

Gameplay
First of, there’s single and multiplayer modes. Multiplayer mode is 1 vs 1 game WiFi only. For Single Player, there’s survival and a “campaign” mode. Campaign mode is comprised of 8 levels each with different unlockables and background designs. Each level is comprised of more than 10 rounds (just got through the first, it had 12 rounds).

Then there’s survival mode which is what as you guessed it. No explanations needed. Throughout the game, you get 1UP’s and powerups including boost in speed, slowmo, airstrike and many more. As you unlock planes, you can simply get out of your current game and choose a new (possibly) stronger plane.
Suggestions
Full online multiplayer, OpenFeint/Plus+ some other social platform connectivity. How cool would it be if you can play with me and watch me OWN YOU!

Conclusion
From the graphics, controls to the actual gameplay itself. All the odds stack up that this is one helluva amazing game! This is pure arcade/casual goodness and the multitudes of unlockable planes WILL keep you coming back for more.
And regarding the review title, this truly is the MOTHER OF ALL temporary free games, rich in content, totally fun and VERY addicting!

So much fun! Tremendous accomplishment. Love trying to unlock all 56 of the planes. This is a great value game. Get it!
This is one I bought because everyone else did. And I'm glad I did. People say that the controls are awesome, but it still took me some getting used to. I keep crashing when I turn around. It's lots of funs though. I'll keep getting better, just not as fast as the rest of you!
The graphics are mellow and "cute" but it has some nice gameplay. I'm still currently trying to unlock some more planes, so it has wonderful replay value.
One of my runner ups for the game of the year.
im down to the last plane, the shark looking thing… when youre looking at the plane list, each row down is pretty much its own category of weapon(single cannon, double, triple, homing missile, cluster bomb, drop bomb, and laser). The ufo section though has all pivotting weapons. my best advice is take the sniper, and fly under them, as close as you can, then pop them with a cluster, its pretty much one hit, except for jimbo… gonna get the 56th one, wish me luck.
OMG! You are so good. FIFTY SIX planes?
