Gogogic makes a comeback with a casual, multiplayer only game that’s super exciting and addicting to some…

I believe no one has dared to go the multiplayer only route, but Soft Freak Fiesta really does require to be as such. The goal of the game is to survive and kill the enemy freaks before THEY get to YOU. The multiplayer implementation and gameplay are great which makes this deserve a look.
Presentation
Soft Freak Fiesta certainly brings the “freak” factor along, and by that I mean the characters and the way the game works. The setup is completely different from other games, but different is good. Everything fit together quite well, the music, characters, environment, etc.

The best part about this game is the freakishly good online multiplayer, due to it being turn based, the slow connection is nothing of concern. I enjoyed this because it was fast paced and called for more strategy use, which I like.
Controls
If you’ve ever played the amusing iBlast Moki game, the controls are considerably alike. To move a character, you tap it and while compressing your finger on the screen, you slide it at a direction you would like your character to head. To drop a weapon, you simply tap a button and it automatically occurs. Same goes on for other options such as skipping your play.

Something that bugs me a little; you and your competitor take turns taking plays. I guess it makes sense, but it really irritates me when someone wastes time while trying to “make their decision” when really, they’re messing with you. But it does help, when you have to think of what to do next in your forthcoming play.

Gameplay
When you tap “Play” it asks if you would like to play with someone nearby or online. I select online because you’re playing with people from around the globe.

Once you join or start a room with someone, you choose your character and begin playing. What your goal is, is to destroy all three characters on your competitors team. It’s slightly a challenge but nothing too big.
Suggestions
The game turned out very nice, although I think some aspects could be supplemented to make this game more amusing. I would like to see a Campaign or Story mode (in the game, not in the iTunes description).

I think this would help the players understand what the game is more about and would give them some practice before heading blind into multiplayer mode. I’d also like to see maybe some more music selections, I know it’s not a big deal when you can just play your own music, but more soundtracks would be nice.
Conclusion
Although the game is different from others, it has potential. I’ve never seen anything like it and enjoyed it for the most part. I definitely recommend this game to anyone, even if you aren’t that “strategic” (ha!). Considering it’s on sale for $0.99, I’d get yourself a copy and get freaky!
