Riddim Ribbon Releases February 8: The Ribbon Will Finally Get Untied

Ever since their initial announcement of the Audiosurf-like rhythm game Riddim Ribbon last September (releasing “October” which obviously didn’t happen), I’m pretty sure Tapulous‘ inbox has been bombarded with emails and yesterday they finally gave in. Riddim Ribbon finally gets a release date… February 8, 2010:

To recap “In Riddim Ribbon, the game-player’s goal is to race down a ribbon track and clear checkpoints, all while following the groove of the music beat. Gamers tilt their iPhone or iPod touch side to side to stay on the track. If the player falls out of the groove, the music gets distorted or muffled. Miss the beat too badly, and their music track will is stripped down to its base beats”.

New Trailer Thoughts

The design and colors are nothing we haven’t seen from the game’s first announcement. We did however get our first preview of the audio overlayed with the actual gameplay. What interested me the most is that towards the end of the clip, you get two track choices: a Will.I.Am remix and some DJ’s remix which if I’d have to “guess” features two different sound designs.

I’ve been waiting for this game for far too long and now that it’s actually on the horizon makes me giddy from the inside out. You?
