One of the few bright lights in a rather disastrous day (another story for another day) is getting a hands on demo for Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 1. SEGA finally forked some money to build an iPhone game from scratch:

The following screenshots are NOT officially for the iPhone. Granted the screen size, I would say this is the default for PSPs. I resized them for the iPhone’s screen as they are pretty much 100% identical.

On the build that I was showed (it was so new I wasn’t even allowed to play it myself), the look and texture of the game are much like the console versions. Nothing really changed except the objects are in full resolution.

Sonic itself looks taller and skinnier though. Maybe he did the P90x workout I’m not sure. This I’m sure of though: the game is still on schedule for the latter half of this year. I’m already awed with the aplha version what more the final one?
