Gameloft has been able to put movie tie in games that are actually good (see: Avatar). Disney hasn’t done it but I think I’ve just seen THAT game that may even be their best game yet. Check out the first details for TRON:

Obviously this is a tie in to this December’s TRON: Legacy. When the game first opened up, I thought this would be like LightBike2 and I got nervous. Not that LightBike2 is bad, but because I was hoping for something bigger and better, and Disney’s TRON folks is just that.
Dual Stick Puzzler WHAT?
Most dual stick controlled games are either space adventures or zombie/first person shooters. This one is still a shooter but it’s the puzzle elements that are making me giddy about it.

Puzzle elements like unlocking laser doors similar to Dark Nebula are present with some teleporting powers, walls, enemies and a whole lot more.
Release Date, Concluding Thoughts
TRON’s design features a lot of fog and halogen looking lights which are, well, very TRON-like. I wish I was able to capture it in action because it really is that good looking. The cross between dual stick and puzzle mechanics really blend well you’d have to wonder it took this long to figure it out.

As far as release date goes, Disney doesn’t have a date yet but they promised me it will come out significantly earlier than December, the game’s movie counterpart’s release. Enjoy the screenshots for now as I’m sure we’ll hear more about the title in the coming weeks.
