Engadget reported yesterday Apple is not the one to blame regarding the very elusive White iPhone 4 models. A Chinese paper reported – Lens Technology – is having problems producing the perfect white version touchscreen glasses:
Now, a worker from Lens’ quality control department has allegedly admitted that the company’s screen-printing workshop may currently be dealing with some issues with the white iPhone 4 covers. Specifically, the factory’s still working out the perfect combination of paint thickness and opacity
The White iPhones should still ship “End of July” as promised, but with this issue still unresolved, there could be problems far worst than the black version launch.
I would assume the pre-orders (if there’s any) should go up sometime this week and availability should be next week. With this piece of news, I’d have to assume Best Buy’s and AT&T stores will be somehow short again.
Here’s on tip: once the pre-order goes up, order immediately. This model is going to be very hard to obtain.
