iOS 4.0.2, iPad OS 3.2.2 Released: Do NOT Install If You Want To Jailbreak

Well we knew it was coming all along, and we’re quite surprised Apple took their sweet time. Shortly after JailbreakMe was released, it spread like wildfire that the current iOS for both iPhone and iPad are vulnerable to security attacks through some PDF function hole. That’s now all but fixed, thanks to iOS 4.0.2 and iPad 3.2.2:

So what other options and new features do these updates ship with other than the jailbreak block? Absolutely nothing! Regardless of which device you have, you can find all the direct download links to the update after the jump.

Again, I could NOT specify enough that if you choose to update to the latest OS, you can NOT currently use Jailbreakme to jailbreak your device. You can find a way to downgrade to the current OS, but why go through the trouble?

    Uff. I was really lucky. My itouch yesterday got stuck at the white apple and I had to install the new IOS (I had 3.1.3) in order to make it work again. Afterwars I was able to jailbreak using the webpage wihtout any problems.
    I have a quick question. In my machine with itunes I have the 4.0.1 update. Is there anyway i could update to this version my wife’s itouch (still at 3.1.3) to this version with itunes? or it will always try to update to the new one 4.0.2?

      Plugin your wife’s Touch. iTunes will detect a new update for hers, download and install it for hers ONLY. When you plugin yours, it’s gonna ask you if you want to update YOUR iPod touch, check “Don’t Ask me Again” and select NO of course.

      Should you want to update later, you can easily select “Check for Updates” on the iTunes Touch page. Hope that helps

    Superbad thanks for the reply. Correct me if I’m wrong. If I plug in my wifes itouch woulnt iTunes update it to 4.0.2? That’s what I want to avoid. I just want to update it to ios 4.0.1. Anyway on doing this?
