iPod Touch 4G: New Front Panel Images Leaked

If there was still any doubt that Apple will be unveiling a new line of iPod Touch’s, presumably named iPod Touch 4, sometime this September, I don’t think you should doubt anymore. Macrumors got a hold of more images of the said device:

The part clearly shows a front-sided hole that would leave room for a front-facing FaceTime camera, and the part is labeled “Apple (c) 2010″.

An iPhone parts supplier is responsible for the store, and this supplier claimed that they got these parts through a “special channel”, maybe this is the iPod touch 4th generation prototype which is leaked from the factory.

The front facing camera is the leading rumored new feature simply because this would mean these devices will support Facetime. Furthermore, this feature was previously reported to work through email instead of a phone number.

We’ll all find out sometime in September which features/rumors will stick or not. Are you going to buy a new iPod Touch?

      Because it’s not a phone. You only use speaker phone even on Facetime for iPhone. There’s no need for a receiving speaker.

The back camera will not be 5 megapixel due to the lack of room inside the product – unless Apple decide to adopt the iPhone 4 design which again is unlikely because cases on the market designed for this generation iPod are not the right shape.

    I dissagree with Trelle and Bobbyj because if you look at the bezel of the iPhone four you notice that the rectangular oval shaped cellphone speaker is not on here…

    To bad the new iphone can only utilize video chat via wifi and not through the carrier, they don’t mention that on the commercial. So it’s very possible that this will have it as well being that you can use skype not to mention facetime as well.

      If you jailbreak, you can purchase an app from Cydia called My3G that allows you to use 3G to make video calls (and download apps over 20Mb or whatever they limit it at).

    Looks cool. Doesn’t it seem similar to ipod touch 3g? But I think it looks much darker than the earlier versions…
