If there was still any doubt that Apple will be unveiling a new line of iPod Touch’s, presumably named iPod Touch 4, sometime this September, I don’t think you should doubt anymore. Macrumors got a hold of more images of the said device:
The part clearly shows a front-sided hole that would leave room for a front-facing FaceTime camera, and the part is labeled “Apple (c) 2010″.
An iPhone parts supplier is responsible for the store, and this supplier claimed that they got these parts through a “special channel”, maybe this is the iPod touch 4th generation prototype which is leaked from the factory.
The front facing camera is the leading rumored new feature simply because this would mean these devices will support Facetime. Furthermore, this feature was previously reported to work through email instead of a phone number.
We’ll all find out sometime in September which features/rumors will stick or not. Are you going to buy a new iPod Touch?
