While we’ve been anxiously awaiting NOVA 2 with Gameloft’s teasers, but now we have a more solid look at it thanks to the folks over at PocketGamer.co.uk filling in the blanks on what we don’t know especially with multiplayer…
The story kicks off eight years after the events of the original NOVA, and you’re once again being called onto duty. Though PocketGamer was only able to play with the first level they mention that from the start the game is already more intense than the previous.
The auto-targeting system is also less forgiving that in the original, increasing the game’s difficulty. The weapons remain similar, you starting out with the standard assault rifle from the original. There’s a new rocket launcher, as well as dual-wielding pistols. As for special combat abilities, freeze is coming back, as well as a new attack ability which is earned later on the game, but no one knows what it is yet.
And finally, general improvements to the flow and difficulty of combat have been made, brining more dynamic and varied enemies, bring “tighter” touch controls. Multiplayer has also been redone to be in-depth, just as the multiplayer in Modern Combat 2: Black Pegasus, which was amazing. From the way PocketGamer makes it sound, this is the original NOVA polished and improved. I cannot wait to play this.
