It’s gotten a little out of hand with the iOS rumors, so we’re now just getting back to our Top 50 iPhone and iPad Games 2010. Check the previous lists here and here.
21. Space Miner: Space Ore Bust
, this game is one of the best surprises this year. It looked like a decent space shooter, but ended up being something more. Venan Entertainment’s funny and witty story coupled with intense gameplay made it one of the best “first releases” in the iOS gaming world.
22. Red Nova
, a dual stick space shooter reminiscent of the great Meteor Blitz from the year before. This game is simple, but the graphics certainly made a mark for the game this year.
23. Sir Lovalot
, just when you think you’ve seen every jumping game there is, here comes Sir Lovalot to prove you wrong. The theme is pretty sweet, but it’s really the unique circular climb that makes this game work for us.
24. Need For Speed Hot Pursuit
, in NFS: Hot Pursuit for iPhone by EA, you only play as the police. EDIT: The game was recently updated with the racer mode too! The first two were a hit, I assume this one will be as well.
25. NOVA 2
, the sequel rose up to the challenge left behind by the original game, living up to everybody’s expectations to be a superior shooter. It incorporated all the improvements from Modern Combat 2 and overall, it might just be the best shooter I played this year.
26. Let’s Create Pottery
, this game is really sort of a hybrid between a game and an app. You make different type of pots (no NOT THAT!), design them and try to please your customers. Besides giving off zen vibe, this game really pushes your creativity.
27. World of Goo
, how many times have you said to yourself: was this game made for the iPad to begin with? World of Goo has seen version on many platforms and yet, the touch controls for the iPad version became so natural you’d think it was originally intended for it. Many studios have tried to replicate this puzzler on the iOS, but nothing beats the original.
28. Modern Combat 2: Black Pegasus
, Gameloft did a wonderful job at bringing a console quality shooter to the iPhone, and this one is one of the iPhone’s best FPS this year. Redefining multiplayer and improving campaign, it is an awesome game.
29. Fieldrunners for iPad
, before any other iOS game was released on other consoles or mobile handhelds, Fieldrunners was the first to do it. It’s now on a handful of platforms, but their iPad rendition is one of the bests. It just got updated with freaking online multiplayer to face off against your friends.
30. FIFA 11
, last year’s outing was a very incredible effort seeing just how much EA was able to pack in it for such a portable device. The team strikes back again this year to deliver the best soccer iPhone title, and the best graphics the iPhone has ever seen.
