I personally liked the Jaws series of movies by Steven Spielberg. That movie reminds me of this game which found its own success on the iOS.
This shark, as he is back for part 3, is ready to try to fill his so called bottomless pit of a stomach. The game is just like part 1 and 2, you being the shark will explore the massive sea searching for meat to eat.
Presentation
The game looks great. The graphics are very good, detailed, and the game world is very big and has lots of interesting, fun, and exciting locations to find.
Controls
You can control the shark’s movement with either tilting your device or a d-pad. Both work pretty good. You can also make the shark go faster by boosting by touching the screen, there is a limit though, as it has a meter which slowly regenerates.
Gameplay
When exploring the game world, you aren’t very distracted, you only really have to worry about your health meter from reaching its limit and starving to death that slowly goes down. So you must eat all you can while exploring. Food won’t be hard to find though which will fill back up your health meter, There are many types of it for a shark, from smaller sharks, to normal fish, to humans!
You must also be on the lookout for dangers in the sea that will take a big chunk out of your health meter, the sea is a vicious mistress. Lookout for mines, puffer fish’s spikes, bigger sharks, humans who are shark hunting with harpoons, and more.
The gameplay is just the same as the other 2 parts though, and that isn’t very good. It would be good if they added something to shake things up again, but they have just added some new food and enemies, and a new game environment. Still is fun to explore though.
Suggestions?
Add something to the gameplay to set it apart from the others, maybe a minigames too, to keep you interested after you have got a bit tired of exploring.
Conclusion
Hungry Shark part 3 is very fun to explore, if you liked older games and want to explore some more, get this, but just don’t expect much difference in the gameplay.
