Most of the Sprint-related news lately have been about the iPhone 4, and even a possible iPhone 5. Just recently, a report surfacec claiming Sprint sales reps had been trained for the iPhone 4 launch next month.
Now a new report from 9to5Mac claims that a Sprint-specific iPad is ready for launch. The main question is what network technology Sprint would use, if they’d just use the current CDMA iPad 2, or some other plans, such as Sprints 4G network.
Apple and Sprint have completed work on a version of the iPad for Sprint’s data network. This Sprint compatible iPad appears to be ready for public consumption and will join the family of GSM (AT&T) and Verizon capable Apple tablets before the holidays. With Apple soon launching a Sprint version of the iPhone – which we independently confirmed in June – we suspect that the Sprint iPad will come alongside or soon after that release.
A Sprint-specific iPad 2 would increate Apple’s iPad offerings to three carriers, and up to 24 different model, taking color, capacity, and carrier options into account. We’ll keep you posted.
