Well, that was fast. It hasn’t been a week since Apple seeded the first beta of iOS 5.0.1 to developers, confirming that there is a battery issue and that it will be fixed, but Apple has already gone ahead and pushed out the second beta.
The new version (build 9A404) hints that Apple is working quickly to fix the battery life issue that has been affecting more and more users. If you already have the first beta of 5.0.1 on your device, you can do an over-the-air update.
There’s one small catch: delta update. If you’re on any of the supported devices, besides the iPhone 4S, the update to beta 2 will be a small delta update. If you’re on an iPhone 4S, you’ll still be able to upgrade over the air, but it’ll come in at a hefty 800MB download. Still, yay for not needing to use iTunes, amirite?
