I’m not sure if the app will still be available by the time you’re reading this post, so let’s get straight to the app link. Check out iTether
which for $14.99 will give you FREE unlimited tethering on your iOS device with just a few steps.
“Tether is an application that allows your Mac and PC to take advantage of your smartphone’s data plan, providing you access to the Internet on your laptop anywhere there is cellular coverage from your smartphone.”
Per 9to5Mac: “Install the app on your iPhone, install its complementing application for the Mac or PC, plug in your USB cord and you’re good to go. Speeds will likely depend on your network connection but it’s working great for me.”
The only downside to this right now is that the app both on iOS and on your desktop need the website tether.com to successfully run. As you can imagine, their servers are overloaded causing people to A) not be able to download the software and B) not tether successfully.
The developers are also claiming they’ve spoken to Apple numerous times regarding what their app does, and Apple finally approved their app. We’ll see if that or their server holds up in a little while. If this was $0.99, I’d be all over it. Without the assurance of a stable service and a fairly high price tag, I think I’ll back off until the morning. You?
