Usually official iOS updates and untethered jailbreak updates go hand in hand with their release dates. Maybe because of the holidays the jailbreak community is slacking off? Regardless, Apple has once again shipped iOS 5.1 Beta 3 to developers.
“iOS 5.1 introduces a new API to mark files or directories that should not be backed up. For NSURL objects, add the NSURLIsExcludedFromBackupKey attribute to prevent the corresponding file from being backed up.”
That’s the official blurb from Apple regarding this update. For those of us who’ve been to a few conferences and know how disastrous 3G can be, the 3G toggle to EDGE is a very useful feature. Thankfully it’s making a comeback on this update.
Apple of course could always yank it right before public release, but here’s to hoping they won’t. What other features are you expecting in the next iOS 5 release?
