It still truly saddens me that Apple hasn’t (and looks like it won’t) release Siri to devices pre iPhone 4S. To us lucky ones though, the jailbreak community is actively opening the software up just like this hands free tweak.

“To use it, just say the keyword—the default is just “Siri” but you can change it to “Computer”, “Hal” or whatever you want—and the standard Siri interface will pop up. This is extremely useful when you’re driving or somewhere where you don’t want to constantly hit the Siri button.”

Lifehacker discovered the app which is called “Hands-Free Control” available on Cydia for $2.99. It seems like a pretty good app and buy, and it looks like it’s certainly helpful for people always on the go.

The only problem is that it will be one heck of a battery drainer. Seeing 4S already has lower battery life than most iOS devices, it may be the dealbreaker here.
