Recently there were rumors of a “strange” Apple Event in February, but they were shot down shorty after . Well according to AllThingsD, Apple will hold an event the first week of March to launch the iPad 3.
“Sources say the company has chosen the first week in March to debut the successor to the iPad 2, and will do so at one of its trademark special events. The event will be held in San Francisco, presumably at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, Apple’s preferred location for big announcements like these.”
AllThingsD is usually right when it comes to accurately revealing New Apple product events; The Loop‘s s Jim Dalrympl has also seems to agree with the above quote simply replying “yep”.
Apple introduced the iPad 2 with a media event on March 2nd of last year , then officially launching on March 11, 2011. I would expect a similar release date for the upcoming iPad 3.
