Makers in Apple’s iPad supply chain have started delivering samples of 7.85-inch iPads for verification, with volume production likely to begin in the third quarter of 2012 at the earliest, according to industry sources.
The price of the smaller iPad is expected to be in the $249-299 range to compete with Amazon’s $199 Kindle Fire. The report also mentions that Apple may also be launching a 8GB iPad 2 for around $349-399, and lowering the price of the 16GB iPad 2 to $449.
We are just days away from the iPad 3 announcement, maybe we’ll hear something about this smaller iPad. Can’t Wait!
