As reported by AppAdvice, in anticipation for larger apps due to the new iPad’s retina display, and possibly because of the faster connection available with 4G LTE, Apple has amped the download limit to 50MB across all devices, whether you’re on a 3G or 4G network.
The previous limit for over-the-air downloads was up to 20MB.
Developers work hard to keep their apps under the over-the-air limit, since it increases the likelihood of spontaneous purchases. The question is, will 50MB be enough for the massive retina iPad apps to come? I guess we’ll find out in a few days.
