At E3 we were able to get our hands with a demo of “Street Fighter X Tekken” running on iOS. One of the things that stuck out is that the game finally has fully 3D character models and non-static backgrounds.
Capcom has now confirmed that the game will be making its way to the AppStore during the summer, as well as posting new details and screens. All attached after the jump.
In the demo at E3 we saw four characters (Ryu, Chun Li, Kazuya, and Nina). Capcom has unveiled four new characters: Guile and Dhalsim (Street Fighter characters), and Hwoarang and Paul (Tekken characters). The controls were also detailed, and are just what you’ve come to expect from the other iOS Capcom fighter games.
One interesting feature in the iOS version is tag partners. You’ll still be able to pick two characters for your team, but only your primary character will have a life bar. The secondary character can tagged in, and in the meanwhile your primary character will recover health, but he won’t have a life bar. Instead they’ll have a “Partner Gauge” that limits the amount of time you can use your secondary character. So how do you measure damage for the secondary character? If he takes damage, it will deplete the Partner Gauge more quickly.
Pretty neat right? We should have more details as the release of the game comes up, so keep an eye on the site and we’ll keep you posted.
