Dead Island iPhone, iPad Coming Soon? Developer Techland Trademarks Dead Stop

Dead-Island

Dead Island is one of the most surprising new hits from an original IP in recent memory. Developer Techland is looking to make a killing on the mobile-sphere as well. PocketGamer is reporting they tradermarked a mobile game called Dead Stop:

“So, what makes us think it’s a mobile project? Well, in the trademark application for Dead Stop, the following description is given: “providing an online game via an application for mobile phones and other electronic apparatus”.”

Dead Island surged into popularity because of the very haunting and tragic short film that lit up the internet like a storm. The video is above if you haven’t seen it. Very graphic obviously and prepare to feel empty for about an hour.

Too bad the game didn’t live up to the hype, but let’s hope the  announced sequel should fix that. We don’t know anything else besides the trademark. This maybe just a smokescreen. Let’s hope it’s real and iOS is one of the games’ destinations. Thoughts?
