Quick! Let’s all act for a second that we didn’t know this was coming. Further signs that Apple’s wall of secrecy is crumbling, the company has confirmed what we’ve known for a while. iPhone 5 (maybe iPad Mini and iOS 6) will be introduced September 12!

Via Macrumors: “The Loop reports that Apple has just sent out invitations for a media event scheduled for next week Wednesday, September 12. The event will be held at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco and is scheduled to begin at 10:00 AM Pacific / 1:00 PM Eastern. The tagline on the invitation is simply “It’s almost here.”

Some of the expected features include:

• larger screen
• smaller charging pin
• A6 chip

iOS 6 will bring about Apple’s own Maps and Passbook to name some of the new features. We’ll see if this gets announced or iPad Mini during the event as well. We’ll live blog the event as usual. Be here!
