We first covered Xpressed’s highly “thematic” puzzle game The Inferno when it was first released with just a lite version of the game then. As part of Free App A Day, you can get The Inferno (50 Levels) for FREE to try the game out!

In the game, you play as Dante trying to free lost souls from the devil of course. To assist you, the higher being has assigned Virgil for tips to save the souls.
This amazingly designed top down puzzler is loosely based on Divine Comedy. Much of the game’s mechanics and running things surprisingly remain parallel to the book itself.

It’s very rare for this site to offer FREE games in-depth reviews since you really can “buy” and find out for yourself. With this game I just HAD TO do it.

Kotaku is reporting that the first ever DLC/IAP for Activision’s Call of Duty World At War Zombies: “Verruckt Map” will be available tomorrow for $5. We first reported about this upcoming DLC last January.

When we first previewed the DLC, we said it’ll be $6… turns out it’s a $1 cheaper! Kotaku goes on to say:
Map pack Verruckt will come with the same extras that were included with the console version of the downloadable content. That means a Perks a Cola machine loaded with player perks, new weapons, electric barriers and audio for the player characters. The map is based on an insane asylum and is about two times the size of the original map.

NimbleBit remains as one of our favorite developers as they continually dish out good casual games. A couple days ago, they prove deserving of that by releasing updates to a couple of their MOST loved games!
Scoops Gets In-App Purchase Themes!
Earlier it seemed like it would be a sequel for Scoops (iTunes Link) but instead the original Scoops has been updated with in-app purchase for themes. So now you have the original Scoops theme, a FREE Sky Burger theme, and then the new 99 cents theme, Kawaii.

Seems to be selling well, Scoops has just made it to the top 100 grossing. I’m personally liking the new theme more than the original. Can I haz more?
Moon Drop Plus+
NimbleBit got rid of their Twitter highscore board for Moon Drop and has added ngmoco’s Plus+ network which is more than an intelligent decision granted the size of the iPhone social platform:

Steam engine, pipes, gears, nuts and bolts, nuts and bolts. One more time now! I don’t know about you but if a puzzle game had us writing an original song, it must be good.
Cogs ($0.99)

Chillingo and Lazy8 Studios’ Cogs is one the most frustratingly challenging puzzle games to ever hit the store. I say frustrating loosely as the game is so challenging it becomes fun and addicting. If you thought slider puzzles are getting boring, this game just gave the genre a much needed rattling!

Activision recently released Call Of Duty World At War Zombies for iPhone. Originally it was a mini-game (or easter egg) for the full console version, but has made it to the iPhone. It’s been dominating the charts, but problem is there’s only one map… not for long!

The first of many maps to come has been confirmed as DLC. It’s called “Verruckt”. There’s barely any info apart from this image @JD_2020 (who works for Activision) tweeted.

The pygmies of Pocket God have been invaded by dinosaurs in the past and knowing the pygmies have invaded this game in the past, it’s understandable the virus got passed on. Check out Super Squawk Software’s latest update to it’s uber cool tower defense game The Creeps with in-app purchases and a whole lot of dinosaurs.

The IAP model has been successful to some iPhone developers and it’s good to see Super Squawk take a stab at it. For $0.99, you get an additional 6 levels of The Creeps. There are three packs available which ultimately extends the game to 18 more levels!
