About four months after the iPad‘s release, the device is now finally graced with an official Twitter app. Last night amidst all the iPod Touch 4G hoopla, Twitter for iPad was released for FREE:

“Twitter for iPad brings your Tweets together with web pages, photos, videos and more. Tap on any tweet, and a related content pane will open, displaying any linked content from the tweet, including web pages, profile information, hashtag searches and similar users.”

This app is the same Twitter for iPhone only with universal support of course. The app’s design is definitely innovative and confident to move outside the bounds of most Twitter for iPad apps.

Some Features:

• Slide panels from side to side and quickly navigate through related content.
• Pinch on a tweet to quickly unfold related information and actions
• Use two fingers to drag on tweet and reveal replies

This app will definitely take some getting used to. I feel like there are a lot of screen space wasted because of the slide panels sliding in and out instead of a permanent dock.

If you don’t have a Twitter client for your iPad yet, make sure to put this on top of your list and try it out.

Miniclip Forms Mobile Game Division

Miniclip.com is a host to many Flash games you can play on the web for free. The success of Fragger proves there’s an outlet for free to paid games conversion in the mobile market.

Sweet Jesus! This game was announced before the iPad, and Mirror’s Edge for iPad has been out for quite sometime now. Yesterday, EA Mobile finally let go of the game and today, you can download Mirror’s Edge for $4.99:

Those who have played the console version will probably recognize some of the locations (like the sewers for the water pipes level). The iDevice version is simplified, which is probably my only complain with it. I was pretty surprised that the story mode is pretty short, lasting about 1, maybe 2 hours of gameplay for the story mode.

One of the iPhone version’s new features is support for retina display of course. EA Mobile won’t make an official word, but we’d have to assume Langdell may have HAD a hand in the delay of the game.

We’ll check out the iPhone version some more and offer a full review once we’re ready. But really! If you’ve waited long enough already, WHY do you still not have the game?

While there’s really no formal name given to it, we can safely call it the iPod Touch 4G judging by what we called its predecessors. Everyone expected it and at yesterday’s Apple Keynote, they delivered all the goods.

The iPod Touch 4G is now officially confirmed to support retina display. One game was demoed at the event to show the device’s capablities in the form of Epic Citadel . A couple hours later, the game is now available for download:

Seeing Rockstar Games has found a new outlet in the iPhone platform, it was only a matter of time they extend that focus to the iPad. On September 9, Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars HD will be released for $9.99!

Car Jack Streets and Payback are both good games at their time of release. GTA:CW however proves it’s worthy of the “GTA” title attached to its name by delivering the best action-mission oriented game our platform has ever seen. And oh, we can finally say, Rockstar has arrived!

The iPad version is expected to retain all of the iPhone version’s amazing features except with souped up features of course. We’ll have a day of release review of the game, so we’ll see you then on September 1!

Remember how we just posted a couple days ago that the proximity sensor bug will NOT get fixed? Guess what? The first surprise from Apple Special Event is that the proximity sensor is fixed with iOS 4.1.
