Since we greeted our good ol pygmies from Pocket God when they turned 1, I figured we should greet our green friend as well as Doodle Jump turns 1 Year Old!

Happy Birthday!

Oh what a year it has been for our little green friend since we FIRST covered the game back in June of last year.

It was around the time they did the Pocket God crossover, and the rest was history.

To my surprise, this game won our readers heart (even more than Pocket God!). This game is no less than our disfigured monster/alien/robot/allof theabove friend Doodle Jump! The gameplay is ridiculously simple, but oh so addictive.

The goal: jump on the platforms to climb up, don’t fall down. Tap the screen to shoot the doodle monsters.  This of course has been made harder, and more umm… ‘unique’ with updates. You now have boss monsters, jet packs, exploding platforms, and more.

This past year the AppStore had its ups and downs, along with many good and bad titles, so now that the year has come to a close, let’s take a look at some of the best casual games that came to be. Whether you like playing with friends online or just want to beat your last high score, there were plenty to choose from.

A quick favorite was Doodle Jump. This game blewup very fast, as it took something so simple as a jumping character that had to avoid falling and running into things and made it an extremely fun game.

Updates that followed showed how creative the devs could be adding more obstacles, some that depicted specific holidays, helpful objects, and even hidden content. This ones a MUST HAVE.

This next game got me addicted to side scrollers again. Run! is the name and as you can guess, you have run the course. Sounds easy right? WRONG! You have over ten obstacles that you must watch out for and your only defense is a rocket launcher and your fighting skills.

Run has had a decent update schedule, as it has improved a lot. What makes this a seller is the feature of customizing a “run” and then being able to challenge friends over OpenFeint.

The next one is an all online game, and a has taken over TheAPPera staffs iPhone’s. Its called Charadium, just think pictionary and you’ll see why its so much fun.

It’s easy to play with friends or just the world and see how good you are. Race against a timer as you either guess what the drawing is or get others to figure yours out.

Ever tested how effortlessly you can be stumped over something that turns out to be really easy? No? Well The Moron Test can do just that. Now with three exams, this app has you saying “huh?” and “Ohhhhhhh” while laughing at your own clumsiness.

What’s more fun is watching as your friends get stuck trying to figure it out. But with practice and clever thinking, you’ll get it done and don’t forget to boast your times over facebook.

The pygmies of a certain island is next so just do NOT close the tab just yet!

If you were one of the people lucky enough to snag a copy of Red Rocket Games Little Runner for Free the other day (or own the game already), this news will make that ten folds sweeter.

In association with Lima Sky’s Doodle Jump, there seems to be a crossover between the two games with the latest update.

There’s only one problem however, we don’t know how to unlock the easter egg. We’re hoping some of you would know while we await Red Rocket Games official reply on our query.
