IUGO is known for their bright graphics and highly controversial games including Daisy Mae’s Alien Buffetand A.D.D. so when we saw a mostly black and white game with almost a zen like feel, we were STUNNED (in a good way). Check out ESCAPE: Norm’s World:
The first thing that popped into my mind when I saw the game was Totemo with the main difference being the contrast in game difficulty. Totemo introduces 3 or more at a time block clearouts while Norm’s World moves one by one block.
If you looked at the video above, you’ll see that though the game is black and white, the animations for when you complete and fail at a level are pretty awesome. Birds fly out of your head for completion and a dark cloud is cast above Norm when you fail.
Apple’s removal of some “sexually suggestive”apps the other day caused an uproar from blogs like us. This morning, as loud as it went out, Daisy Mae’s Alien Buffet is now back in the store WITHOUT any changes from IUGO.
BANNED!
This follows Phil Schiller’s (Apple Head of Product Marketing) statement to the NY Timesthis morning regarding the actual removal of said apps:
It came to the point where we were getting customer complaints from women who found the content getting too degrading and objectionable, as well as parents who were upset with what their kids were able to see
However as KRAPPS initially pointed out, WHY are Maxim, Sports Illustrated and Playboy, all of which contain sexually titillating images and content are STILL on the store.
Mr Schiller’s answer is obvious and shocking at the same time…
Here’s what we said regarding IUGO’s Cliffed: Cliffed delivers an old game play idea in a new and fun way. Today, with the official lite version for the game, Cliffed: Norm’s World, you can try the game for FREE!
Challenge your friends to the most addictive race to the bottom! IUGO presents its latest sensation in casual gaming with this frantic 2D scrolling racer. WARNING: This game will get your heart and fingers racing!
Well being a guy, I for one am glad that it doesn’t look like we’re having any hot babes slash superheros for this year. We already told you about our Tehra the thong princess and now take a peek (pun intended) at IUGO’s Daisy Mae Alien Buffet:
Daisy Mae’s peaceful, simple life in her little desert trailer park will never be the same. A full scale alien attack on earth has begun and Daisy becomes the unlikely heroine outta nowhere.
Take hold of the steering wheel and help Daisy Mae shoot and blast her way to victory in this fun and quirky dual stick shooter. Aliens: you have been served!
Call me a little pervert but when we did some conference rounds this past summer (WWDCand E3), one of the games that literally stuck in my head is IUGOME’s uber perverted, nasty and purely fun A.D.D.!
After SIX MONTHS of waiting, the game can now be downloaded for $2.99!
This is really monumental for IUGO and the consumers. How so? Well the game is pushing AppStore’s censorship boundaries. The game involves slapping women’s behinds, taking a peep show, pissing on snow etc etc.
You don’t believe me? Check out how many warnings the game is plastered by!
IUGOME’s next game is a “little less known” than their ultimate franchise Toy Bot Diaries. However, things are looking up for this game as they’re about to release its sequel: Zombie Attack 2!
The game is IUGOME’s foray into the tower defense genre. Though a bit unorthodox, Zombie Attack! is actually their best selling game so far!
Take control of Spy Bot as he jumps, shoots, and hacks his way through a varied 2D world of fun and adventure. Find ThiefBot’s hideout, save Toy Bot, and recover all the other stolen goods Thief Bot has swindled throughout the galaxy!
Hurry hurry hurry! Just because it’s been three months since IUGOME has submitted the full version of A.D.D., it’s counterpart lite version will now be pulled.
This Wario-Ware like game should be downloaded NOW for FREE!
The decision stems from Apple not releasing nor giving any updates as to the status of the full version. IUGOME knew this going into the submission process.
However, the non-cooperativeness of Apple is upsetting knowing that IUGOME is willing to tame down the content a little… if this ever was the problem.
Apple seems to be in a great mood for approving apps because last night, they approved TWO apps we previewed on the site previously. Bovine Dragon’s Gomi and now IUGOME’s Spy Bot Chronicles!
It’s another interesting coincidence that both games are platformers. Check this out:
Arguably, the game is sort of a re-skinning of their extremely popular Toy Bot Diaries series.
