3D Brick Breaker Revolution 2 Review: Unbelievably Good!

Hey look, another Breakout clone. Did we really need one of those? I didn’t think so either, but it turns out maybe I was wrong. Normally I struggle through a few levels so I can say that I’ve played enough to write my review… BUT

3D Brick Breaker Revolution 2 ($1.99; FREE)

3d-brick-breaker-revolution-2-6

In the case of 3D Brick Breaker Revolution 2 I’ve already played 20+ levels in Classic mode (some more than once) and 3 level sets in Revolution mode, and I’m actually not bored yet. I’m still not eager to run out and buy every Breakout clone that I can get my hands on, but if developers do decide they need to continue making such games, I hope they take a serious look at this one as a good example of what to do right.

Space Miner: Space Ore Bust Review: Out Of This World!

Sure there are enough games to occupy our free time just by looking around, but in some cases, we’d have to stretch far out, even beyond Earth…

scene-it-twilight-1

This review is something I’ve been saving up for the movie sequel’s release today. Frankly there’s not even a question that this game exists and only exists for the movie’s fans.

If you don’t want to be less of a Twilight fan than the next, you’d want to download this game.

Konami (Metal Gear, DDR) $0.99 Entire Catalogue SUPER Sale: Alert The Cops!

Looks like someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed. But it’s the right side of the bed for you consumers. Konami has gone completely haywire by putting (read-my-lips) EVERYTHING on sale. Let’s look at two of the most worthy options…

Krazy Kart Racing

How many kart racers are in store? And of those how many are playable online? Konami attempts to answer both those questions with Krazy Kart.

krazy_kart_racers_p_2

It’s the closest thing we’ll get to Mario Kart, but does it stand on its own? The multiplayer is still somewhat broken, but it’s no brainer at this price.

Metal Gear Solid Touch

Though it has received criticisms for having a gameplay NOTHING like the console version, MGS Touch remains to be the most sophisticated games we’ve ever played.

It utilizes great graphics and rolls it with touch controls that just works for the device. Forget your knowledge about the console versions, and you’ll be fine.

Derek Jeter Real Baseball Review: Gameloft Covers All Bases And More!

We roll into the World Series tonight so you ask: what else is there to do? Play some baseball on your iPhone of course!

Derek Jeter Real Baseball ($0.99 - On Sale)

This game is the latest in Gameloft’s Real Sports series, this time featuring one of the best known baseballer’s today, Derek Jeter. Having a big name like Jeter on their game, I was hoping for actual MLB teams and players

Sadly, they haven’t been able to get the rights to the names (MLB World Series 2009 is the only game to date with the rights to the teams, no players). Go Yankees? Or dos this game tank?

Tradewinds 2 Review: Yo Ho, Yo Ho, Trade Some Fish With Me!

Tradewinds 2 very much reminds me of one of my old Pocket PC favorites, Space Trader. Oddly enough, when I first started playing Tradewinds 2, it just didn’t have the same feel too it.

Tradewinds 2 ($2.99)

You’d think with superior graphics, stellar music and a lot more to do, Tradewinds 2 would actually be a better game. The more I delved into it, though, I realized that it was probably just opening night jitters. Tradewinds 2 is definitely Space Trader plus a whole lot more, and it’s got real pirates too (not just those silly space imitations). If you’ve ever wanted to trade along the open sea while keeping the nasty pirates at bay, Tradewinds 2 is the game for you.

Star Hogs Review: Hang On While I Scorch Your Earth

I remember a time when Scorched Earth was THE tank vs. tank multiplayer game. My how times have changed since then… or have they?

star_hogs_banner

Star Hogs ($2.99 - On Sale; Free)

Fast forward to 2009 and the release of Star Hogs, and it seems that the more things change, the more they stay the same. Sure there’s now a space oriented theme and a campaign mode, but at its heart Star Hogs is Scorched Earth through and through – and that’s not a bad thing at all. I had a couple of issues with the controls, but otherwise this is the perfect example of how an old classic should be updated for modern audiences.

Pipe Mania Review: The Classic Arrives For The iPhone

Pipe Mania (previously Pipe Dreams) became a smash hit on platforms like the PC, PSP, DS and Wii. With the help of developer Robosoft this classic game has ventured onto the iPhone.

pipe_mania_banner

Pipe Mania ($0.99 - ON SALE! ; Free)

I have never heard of this title, but it has been out for over 20 yeasr, originally being introduced all the way back in 1987, the year before I was born! What has kept this title a favorite for all generations of gamers is how its evolved with the platforms, providing more gameplay and better graphics.
