Someone is bathing on some cold hard cash this past week alright… If you thought us calling Plants Vs Zombies iPhone “Dangerously Addicting” makes us insane, why don’t you ask the game’s record breaking $1 Million AppStore sales in its first NINE days just announced:

Plants vs. Zombies™ sold more than 300,000 units in its first nine days of availability, setting a new record for App Store launches. Plants vs. Zombies shot to number one in the units sold and “top grossing” App Store charts within 24 hours of its launch and remained there until yesterday. At a retail price point of US$2.99, Plants vs. Zombies for iPhone/touch has already grossed more than US$1 million.

As if that’s enough to make those PopCap guys jump up and down in joy, they’ve also revealed that Bejeweled 2 iPhone has raked in over $3 Million in sales. They also claim this is the FIRST iPhone game to do that, and we believe them.

Well after months and months of waiting and a couple of delays, PopCap Games’ hotly anticipated “line defense” game finally arrives for the iPhone. For the price they promised Plants Vs Zombies can be downloaded for $2.99!

WHAT!? We’re really excited about the tablet too, we’re not shutting up now when we’re so close. There are two little tid-bits which you might wanna think about. Let’s start with today’s Q4 earnings call.

Apple’s 2009 4th Quarter Earnings, Quattro Acquired (Ad Service)

They revealed a blockbuster quarter, with 8.7 Million iPhones and 21 Million iPods sold, and iTunes doing quite well too. So why is this interesting? Well, Apple confirmed that they had bought Quattro, and wish to compete with Google mobile advertisements.

Most likely this will make adding ads to iPhone app easier, perhaps through API in the iPhone SDK? I just really hope they don’t plan on doing what Zune did, showing a ad before each free app.

Mirror’s Edge, Plants Vs Zombies BOTH Delayed, To Debut On Tablet?

This post is something to add on our iPhone OS 4.0 Rumors and Tablet rumors posts. Remember how we said numerous gaming sites had been invited to Apple’s event? And how EA, and others from the gaming industry were going to be there as well?

Well, keep in mind EA’s Mirror’s Edge for iPhone has already been delayed, and now, Popcap’s Plants Vs. Zombies for iPhone has ALSO been delayed! Hmmm…
