Ladies and gentlemen… coming from the complete left field, Doom 2 RPG iPhone Released: Where’d This Come From? has released an iPhone port of their well received mobile game, Doom 2 RPG. Coming from the people who brought us Wolfenstein RPG, this is quite promising.
The game is a turn-based take on the DOOM universe, and as the story goes, the forces of Hell have invaded our dimension once again, and only you can stop them from their ultimate goal of conquering Earth.
Enough fooling around!!! We got some exclusive screens and info on the upcoming Minigorevisit to the epic 8Bit action platformer Hook Champ, AND some codes to give out as we await the release of the update:
Here’s what Kepa of Rocketcat Games had to say about the upcoming update: “It plays like Minigore would if John Gore had a grappling hook. Kind of like a simplified Bionic Commando.”
He also goes on to say that there will be no time limit on this level and the furries will come at you NONSTOP! And now, for what everyone’s waiting for I’m sure, find out HOW TO WIN a FREE copy of Hook Champ, after the jump…
At long last, one of the most awaited games this Winter finally gets dated. PopCap through the video below has revealed that the PC/Mac hit “line defense” game, Plants Vs Zombies, will finally be released on the iPhone on February 15:
Plants Vs Zombies if you must know is what I call “line defense” as it breaks from freeform and “tracked” tower defense game. You still get towers for your use but you get to place them only on a straight line. Watch the video above, I think I just confused you.
Fallen is the beginning of what we think is an epic action game which is SERIOUSLY NOT for the faint of heart. It’s so nasty and gritty it compares to those ultimately gory movies (like SAW) to make up one thrilling game!
As if we need any more indication that iPhone development isn’t quite the goldmine most people lead you to believe, here are two games that are actually good that are FREE which we missed initially.
DropBrick is like Topple 2 given the Doodle-theme treatment. There are over 70 levels each with varying goals like height and weight measurements. I’d say the physics are pretty good too so make sure to give it a try.
Daniel absolutely hated Snood but loved Bust-A-Move. Something tells me the quality of this game is dead smack in the middle of the two. The graphics and animation detailing are actually quite nice and delightful.
Looky what we got here… It seems that iPhone developers are now stepping up on creating trailers for their upcoming games that calling them trailers doesn’t cut it anymore. Checkout FDG Entertainment’s commercial for Across Age:
The player steps into the role of 2 switchable characters: swordsman Ales and magician Ceska, each with own fighting and special skills that are needed to solve tricky puzzles and successfully battle fierce monsters.
This cooperative element is one of the key features of the game. Another key feature is the possibility to travel through time and revisit places, enabling exciting events and riddles.
Originally released as Professor Heinz Wolff’s Gravity for the Wii, DS, and PC, Namco brings the physics puzzler to iPhone, this time bearing the name, Issac Newton.
We’ve seen Namco release numerous games for the iPhone however most games are met with criticism good and bad. Something tells me this game is one of their games that are simply runaway hits from the get go. Also, does this port by Namco live up to the console version of the game? Find out after the jump.
Well it seems like Chillingo is back in full swing this year building up on their publishing success from last year. With the recent releases of Cogs and Guerrilla Bob, both of which are awesome by the way, comes a trailer and promo parade for The Hero:
The game involves “crashing and bashing into a sh#tload of different enemies, 15 level campaign with a wacky storyline, survival mode, strange humor and fast paced action”. If both videos don’t sound interesting enough, let’s further discuss…
Not even on the night of the Superbowl does Apple give us a break with the game releases. Tonight two heavily awaited games were finally released!
Tapulous Riddim Ribbon
I got that boom boom pow… errr… sorry got distracted. Riddim Ribbon (iTunes Link) is finally out in the wild. We first saw it at the Apple event, demo’d together with Gameloft’s NOVA (sorta funny both make news at the same time again).
Riddim Ribbon is an Audiosurf like game where you must keep the ball on track, and can switch between tracks for different mixes of the songs, creating at the end your own custom mix of the song.
We first saw Real Racing, then NFS Shift. Now it’s Gameloft’s turn at a racing game that isn’t pure arcade like racing / physics. Not much about the game had been known before, but judging on the screenshots it looked quite impressive.
Could this be the new king in the racing genre for iPhone? We’ll have impressions up shortly.
I love me some good underdog stories and tonight we witnessed one… the Saints defeated the Colts! In celebration of their championship, Flick Kick Field Goalis FREE today only! (Well it’s not really for the Saints per-se, just for the Superbowl in general, lol).
Field Goal features multiple kicking challenges, realistic graphics and insanely addictive flick to kick game play. This game is like the football papertoss!
