Penguins and polar bears square off in another Digital Chocolate game!

Crazy Penguin Catapult ($2.99 - On Sale; Free)
We take a look at one of the games that put Digital Chocolate on the iPhone gaming map. Crazy Penguin Catapult is a quirky and addictive game involving throwing penguins off catapults and targeting angry polar bears. Top off with the cute soundtrack and effects, and you get one insanely fun game!
Throw Those Penguins!
There are 2 main game modes: Campaign and Strategy. We’ll discuss Campaign mode first. After selecting Campaign under the Main menu screen, the game then takes you to it’s interactive level selector:

The levels are those little circular blue spots. You drag the penguin to the direction you want to go. Once he’s on top of the spot, tap it to enter the level. The gameplay is comprised of two parts = throwing the penguins by tapping on screen to activate the catapult:

…and strategically landing them to hit polar bears (by a second tap):

Each level requires a minimum number of polar bears hit which is shown on the top right of the screen. Although, the more polar bears you kill, the more starts and better points you’ll get. More gameplay elements like a fire ring to break and melt ice walls, ditches, more polar bears and bigger levels are introduced on later levels.
Some levels also involve saving penguins which ultimately increases your ammo (penguins) if saved:

Mini Games
Green spots on the map are for Special Levels or mini games like the one below. The goal is to collect a certain amount of food to receive bonus points:

Strategy Mode
The game also comes with a Strategy Mode. In this mode, you’re asked to conquer all bases some bad polar bears are currently overtaking:

The more penguins you have attacking the polar bears, the better your chances are for winning that base:

Conclusion
Undeniably, this is one of Digital Chocolate’s best games. It is also one of the higher rated games. The sound effects and the reactions these animals show are really endearing and enhance the gameplay. We suggest you buy it while it’s on sale. As always, all Digital Chocolate games come with lite version. Download it if you’re on the fence. There’s simply no reason not to.

Heh, only 5 months late :p
We’re only 3 months old. We were in copulation when the game was released ;p
*eeep* (hides & blushes) you used the C word LoL
Seriously though, this is another one of my faves that I’m just about ready to finish. When I tried the lite version long ago, I really didn’t like it–I wasn’t “getting” the controls. But 4 months later I gave it a 2nd chance, fell in love and immediately purchased the full game!
