For the last 10 games to make our Top 50 iPhone Games 2009, did you see what I did there? Notice how I rephrased the classic “Best of the Rest” to “Rest of the Best”? The reasoning behind that is I wanted to divide the games into 5 sections and I just couldn’t find a coherent theme to glue these last 10 games together. They’re in NO WAY better or less than the first 40. Let’s just get that out the way…
CANABALT, a very respectable port of the Flash game to the iPhone. The soundtrack and artwork look suited for more “serious” gamers than Run! With the latest update including scoreboards and a new soundtrack, no wonder this is a serious gaming addiction.

STAIR DISMOUNT, the game’s first released started a bit slow in a sense that some key features are missing. In a game where the goal is to throw dummy’s off different stairs for the highest score, they sure corrected everything that was wrong in the game’s second version.
JET CAR STUNTS, this game should have really made our Best Suprises list but it somehow found its way here. A very different racing game I should say, what with on and above ground drifts, and great gameplay design… Jet Car is a sure winner!

RUN!, the more casual of the “run as far as you can” games makes our list as well solely because of the plethora of features Canabalt is “lacking”. Most notably: customize and send challenges, more diverse enemies, quick modes and lives system.
ALIVE 4-EVER, this game did what Minigore has been promising for so long: multiplayer (though local only… for now). Who would not want a zombie shoot fest complete with a career mode featuring different weapons and locations?

METEOR BLITZ, a graphically stunning dual stick shooter. Don’t be fooled! Even though the backdrop of planets on a pseudo 3D look really nice, the gameplay doesn’t disappoint either. Must have action-arcade game!
BUST-A-MOVE, this game makes our list as well seeing Taito ported yet another gaming classic to the platform. Many try to copy the original but those are all just wannabes. When this balls popping game arrived, boy did it deliver!?!

SKEE-BALL, take what was good in 10 Balls 7 Cups and work with Freeverse to improve the game and this is what you get. A constant presence on the charts, unlockables, and beautiful game design, what else is there to ask?
PARACHUTE PANIC, FDG Entertainment killed two birds in one stone by having a doodle themed – casual game. A different take on the genre by landing parachuters on ships using touch inputs, Parachute Panic is one casual gaming beast.

3D BRICK BREAKER REVOLUTION, sure there are probably thousand of brick breaking games in store but nothing compares to this brick breaking title. First of all, it’s in 3D but best of all, the modes, powerups and overall presentation make this game the best of its kind.
So there you have it! We’ve completed our Top 50 for 2009. We’ll do a complete rundown of the list later today but feel free to lash out whether you dis/agree with most/some/none of the games on our list.
Feedback is always very welcome!
