iPhone 5 Release Date In September: Named iPhone 4S, Coming To Sprint, T-Mobile

Finally! After some lukewarm news surrounding iPhone 5 and its release date, we get some of the juiciest information so far. Forbes published a report stating that “iPhone 5″ is actually iPhone 4S and it will have an A5 chip, HSPA+ support!

iPhone 4S!

“According to our industry checks, the device should be called iPhone 4S and include minor cosmetic changes, better cameras, A5 dual-core processor, and HSPA+ support”.

That was the first group of rumors which is really nothing we haven’t heard or predicted before. However, this is more of a breaking news to me:

But he also says that “industry checks indicate Apple will likely announce Sprint, T-Mobile, and China Mobile as new carriers.”

From a business standpoint, the delay from Summer to Fall release gives Sprint and T-Mobile additional time to perfect their networks for the iOS arrival makes perfect sense.

From a consumer standpoint, it looks like the next iPhone will be an iPhone 3GS like upgrade in which well, it isn’t much of an upgrade save for a couple non life changing features. If said rumor becomes true, who among the 4 will you get it: AT&T, Verizon, Sprint or T-Mobile?

You can leave a response, or trackback from your own site.

i think the A5 chip and cameras would be worth the upgrade for gaming.

i have heard that they may add a face recognition software that allows you to unlock your phone through the front camera.

This will be a very big thing, believe me. The iPhone 3G never felt slow until the 3GS comes out. As we all know, Apple has a knack of making their last generation products feel extremely ancient.

After the iPhone 4S release, you’ll look at your iPhone 4 and say, “meh”.

    • Fahoodyz

u r right. loool apple always make u feel bad about ur iphone when a new one is out. i have been usin iphone since the original iphone every year its a must upgrade :)

  • Fahoodyz

they always say that. people accept it! apple will always surprise us each year with a new great iphone. so beat it. it may also called the iphone 5s. i would love to have it with a5,double flash and 8 mp camera full hd video. bigger screen. and better speakerz, face time over 3g. wireless syncin, better front camera, thinner, faster with better multitaskin and widgets, and maybe some big things like : 64 gb memory, notification system, bigger folders, new themez ,and i want a better lock system so we can lock our photo album, notes email. and imagine if they put a face recognization :) . and a lighting apple logo on the back wooow. whats else let me think mmmmm some 4g,wirless charging, self update without a computer, mybe a flash on the front facing camera,or a the same storage as the ipod classic, imagin a bigger screen wich all the application will be HD like the ipad. so the iphone apps will be clear on the ipad screen. and mybe they can abb led light like blackberriez. thanks 4 readin XD

I hope they never fall prey to the bigger screen it is stupid!!!! Android uses it as a selling point. i think its weak and dumb! who wants to go back to the time of bigger phones as far as viewing 3.5 to 4.2 is no difference all it is is more bulk in the pocket. i love the iphone because it is the perfect size anything bigger is stupid! Buy a droid if thats the crap you want! Its the perfect size period… Droid does bigger because its all they got they know they will never win the tech war so they go with the easy out a builkier phone with a bigger screen for morons that like to have a big bulge in there pocket to compensate for the other small one they pack. LOL Improve specs maybe even slimmer at some point but never bigger! if they do i hope they give you the option and sell two different sizes so the small in the pants can have a bigger screen that raelly makes no differenc in viewing lets be honest! unless your goiseveral inches which no one wants in there pocket it pointless for viewing honestly. So buy a bulky Droid if you want inferior with a “big Screen” 4.2 inches that make oh so much difference if your 2ft tall yourself!

Lol! “Bigger” screen is ALL android has?! Hmm, let me think…how about expandable memory, removable battery, slide out keypad (maybe iPhone could justify not having one if it had a bigger screen), customizable Widgets, reliable call connection without needing a ‘bumper’ case, & real mutitasking! Get real, iphone has been outdated ever since the original droid came out & apple doesn’t seem to care much about keeping up with the pace of technology advances. Why would any INFORMED consumer even consider buying an iphone when there are so many other superior phones on the market?… Seriously.

Who cares about removable batteries an d slide out keyboards, apple is the future, touch screens voice identifiers, we are trying to make life similar not go back to the past I am getting the i-Phone the first day it comes out for sprint.  Apple is the future and has the tendency to never dissapoint,

How r they “the future” when they’re among the last to ever bring any new technology to market? Example: iphone got multitasking (somewhat) a yr & 1/2 AFTER moto droid was already out! Motorola, htc, samsung & lg ALREADY have dual-core phones on the market…where’s iphone’s?! If I’m not mistaken, samsung pioneered touch screen technology. & voice identifier?…are u aware that the moto atrix has an on-board fingerprint reader as well as dual core cpu?! The htc evo 3d can record 3d video as well as take 3d pics, & has new hdmi tech that charges the phone while playing hd video on a tv through the same connection…& u don’t even need 3d glasses! Oh yeah, it also has dual core…again, where’s. Iphone?!…the one thing I give iphone credit for is being ALMOST 1st to bring out front-facing cam (htc evo did 1st)…no wonder apple continues to lose market-share to android.

    • toast

You must be one of the “morons packing small pants”…get over yourself and your “all knowing attitude”. For the money, apple is great, and as far as battery life goes, a hell of a lot better than some of those HTCs. I’d rather have something reliable, that I know runs great and has what I need versus something that is going to die half way through the day. Stop hating on Apple.

    • ApplestoApplesGirl

First, if I may quote when you said “they’re among the last to ever bring new technology to market”…..THAT’S APPLE’S MARKETING STRATEGY, MORON. Apple knows how to make cash. By giving the comsumers a chance to see what they’re about to get, THEN once when enough people are satisfied with it, BAM, new product again. More people buy. New product again. And so on. They already have the newest technology on lock…they’re just waiting to showcase it for the future. Second, if you’re going to be a smart-ass about ‘everything technology’, at least mention the other characteristics the other phone companies’ have. All the phone companies you suggested have pretty poor structure, speed, design, features, HQ picture quality, battery life, applications, programming, I could go on. They’re just lacking something. And let’s face it. Not everyone’s a technology nerd, so not everyone’s going to care and focus on every tiny little feature any phone has. And the iPhone, or any Apple product for that matter is mostly used for artistic usage. In which obviously you’re not in tune with. Plus, you don’t need to explain what an iPhone is, it has already created a name for itself in which the others haven’t.

Have a very technological day. :)

    • Chris

Hmmmm. Who cares if your phone is dead and you are not next to a charger? I do. I have an external charger and an extra battery. When my phone battery dies; I put in a fresh one and I am good to go. You know how long I had to wait for my phone to even turn on when the battery died on my iPhone. Oh, wait; I am sure you do. Having your phone plugged in for 15 minutes before it even powers on is so awesome! NOT! Apple is not the future. They are a company who has made some big strides, but chosen to not continue evolving. And a slide out keyboard? How many emails do you type with your iPhone and how long does it take you? I could smoke you with Swype or my slide out. Keep shouting from the mountain tops how much of an idiot you are. Your village will find you soon enough.

When will it happen tho. i need to know how much time to wait because i just dont want to go and waste my money on the iPhone 4 and a month later the iPhone 5 comes out –___–

    • jetraymond

if you wait and the 5 comes out within the month apple will let you return the 4. my cousin had it happen to him with the ipad.

If you have many family members that have/want data and texting, you have to go with the Sprint Everything Data plan.  Unlimited mobile to mobile minutes, unlimited nights and weekends, unlimited texts and data, it’s everything you could ever want, and a price considerably lower than Verizon. No problems with dependability here…. Never have dropped a call!

    • Aroy

I think it would be a bad move for Apple to allow the Iphone on Sprint and T-mobile networks. Take it from a guy who has had Sprint, T-mobile, At&t and Verizon. Verizon by far has the best coverage! Living in Phoenix I have had the other three drop calls where I shld have not. In all areas I go Arizona, California, Utah, Idaho Verizon always has coverage. Sprint and T-mobile dropped calls constantly. To those reading this blog I would strongly suggest Verizon or even At&t over the other two.

Agreed! I’ve had T-Mobile and Sprint for two months each! I couldn’t bare the dropped calls! Verizon is my favorite so far and I LOVE my Verizon iPhone 4.

    • James04

i have the sprint everything plan and its amazing. never had a problem with it. had it for almost 2 years now. the thing i like best is it has unlimited data. Verizon and ATT have capped data, which means you can only use so much data per month. not sprint. Sprint is number 1!!

  • Anonymous

it will be ether tmobile or sprint, probably sprint. tmobile or sprint, probably sprint.

  • Dakota

Sprint and T-Mobile’s networks aren’t big enough for the iPhone. People will think that just because the phone is new with them, it’s going to be better. With too many users on a smaller network, it may result in dropped calls, slow internet, crossed calls, random shutdowns, etc. I would, speaking by personal experiences, stay away from Sprint and T-Mobile both! Get the iPhone from Verizon or AT&T. I personally like Verizon better but AT&T is a good network, as well!

    • Contreras85008

      lame

    • nic1236

The only network that HASN’T dropped calls for me is Sprint.
Verizon was horrible as was At&t.

If this is true… I am so STINKIN HAPPY! I am on Sprint but am so poor on paying the bill. I would GLADLY spend good money to have hardware options like the i-phone. I can finally sync everything up and be as organized as I want to. And if it is really September… I’ll happily wait if it is concrete. It just bothered me that all these other international carriers could have it, and here in America it was “exclusive” so uncool.

  • http://www.facebook.com/MacTheHype Maurice A. Charles

That’s what’s cool about it, freedom of choice. The hardware is the big bonus, but network wise you get what you pay for. Sprint runs well in my area so it is a no brainer for me. Hopefully all people are covered though; They should use their phone and be able to carry it through networks and not be penalized. especially with the increasing cost of phones. Let your phone work for you as supposed to the networks, and let them battle over the service they provide. That’s the real gain from this!

use android, more efficient, open os, linux, technology, menu, WIDGETS,the only drawback is the market and the amount of apps. android is the future, believe me, or wait and observe in next years

Why would I, an average consumer, want to sound so much money that is outdated so fast. I renewed my contract just to pay around 300 dollars for my 3GS and in less than one year it was outdated. I can’t stand Jobs and his arrogance and greed but did consider getting an iPhone 4. Now that is soon to be outdated. There are some amazing apps and capabilities but there are so many crapps as well, and many cons. Just because so many people seem to worship Apple and rush after any product, despite obvious flaws or inconveniences or prices or individuality even is enough to not want their products in my hands. A new iPhone already just ensures Jobs doesn’t get another cent of mine.

I was on my to switching my service to at&t , but now I don’t have to !!! This great , I can’t to see what Apple and sprint has in store !!!! If I don’t like it I’ll just move to Apple its no big deal!!* :)

  • amber

yeahhhh SPRINT ! yall betta be getting the iPhone ! yall will keep my business

  • Rochelle

I can’t wait for Sprint to qet the iPhone !

  • Birdbot

Simplicity vs Complexity, Android and Iphone are great devices. The only thing that matters is the tech level of the user, Android has its perks, and Iphone has it’s perks. I just came from an Evo 4g to an Iphone 3g. I have rooted my Evo and jailbroken the Iphone. The Evo is way more customizable, though the apps on the Iphone just run smoother. Im glad Iphone is possibly making its way to other carriers, soon I’ll have android for work, and Iphone for play..

  • Adchavers88

SPRINT!!! i hope cuz if so i get a evo!!!…dnt ask y,its a long story

  • Najeelastrap

I hope one of the carriers will be T-Mobile. This one of the phones I’m looking forward to beside the blackberry bold. So I hope it comes out sometime in sept. Or Oct. A perfect birthday gift for me.
