According to iMore, Apple’s next iPhone will likely have LTE 4G connectivity, a 3.5″ or slightly larger screen and will be released in Fall of 2012. The site also reports that the phone will have will have a smaller dock connector.
It shouldn’t be a surprise that the new iPhone will be 4G LTE capable, since that is a feature currently available on the New iPad. iMore sums up the iPhone 5‘s rumored features:
So to sum up, iPhone 5,1 is on track for:
- Similar if not same sized screen (currently 3.5-inch but not set in stone)
- 4G LTE radio
- New “micro dock” connector
- Fall/October 2012 release
The site also reports that Apple is working to reduce the size of the traditional 30-pin dock connector to a micro-dock; which would allow for more room inside for other components.
I’m a little bummed the screen size will most likely be the same, though, iMore reports that Apple has not set this is stone.
